It all started with Yellow Pear Tomatoes

Years ago, living in Illinois, Tomatobob started growing Yellow Pear tomatoes. When I was very young, I started helping him and learned to love the huge number of small yellow objects I could pick and throw or squash, it was a blast!

The hornworms were always fun to watch too, and I’d help him pick those off his humongous plants.

After a year or two he started trading the yellow pear seeds for other varieties like Brandywine, Cherokee Purple, and a number of wonderful heirlooms.

Nearly 30 years later, through different chapters and different farms, I’ve taken on the torch as Tomatoben.

All we try to do here at Tomatobob is provide good quality seed for good Heirloom varieties, at a good price and with good customer service.

A lot of good is our goal!
